A multi-channel audio-visual installation. 2005

4 screens (16mm film/Ultrasound scans) and an 8 channel electro-acoustic composition. 12 minute loop.

The work integrates themes of pregnancy and identity, movement and ‘becoming’.
Aureole is a dance-film that re-imagines the personal experience of pregnancy. As the mother develops her own shifting identity, she is creating a new one. In a dynamic interrelation, the movements of mother and foetus are drawn into a world of mutual influence, amid a flux of sound.

Made in collaboration with dancer Andrea Berry, choreographer Sophie Hamar and Sound Artist, Helena Gough. Diving supervisor and Underwater cameraman, Franz Pagot AIC.
